Guide / Every rule
Process or sub-process without an end event
The check bpmnlint/end-event-required, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
Without an end event the reader cannot see where the process ends, and some engines refuse to run it.
How to fix it
Add an end event at the end of every path.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/end-event-required. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set end-event-required to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
