Event sub-process start without an event
The check bpmnlint/event-sub-process-typed-start-event, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
An event sub-process starts when its event happens, so a blank start event says nothing about when.
How to fix it
Give the start event a type: message, timer, error, signal or another.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/event-sub-process-typed-start-event. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set event-sub-process-typed-start-event to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
