Guide / Every rule
Several flows enter a task that does not join them
The check bpmnlint/fake-join, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
Only a gateway joins flows; several flows into a task start the task once for each token, which is rarely what the drawing suggests.
How to fix it
Join the flows with a gateway of the matching kind before the task.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/fake-join. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set fake-join to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
