Complex gateway
The check bpmnlint/no-complex-gateway, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
A complex gateway holds logic that is written nowhere a reader can see, and few engines support it.
How to fix it
Replace it with exclusive, inclusive or parallel gateways.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/no-complex-gateway. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set no-complex-gateway to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
