Path that ends without an end event
The check bpmnlint/no-implicit-end, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
A path that just stops leaves the reader to guess whether it was meant to.
How to fix it
Add an end event after the last element of the path.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/no-implicit-end. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set no-implicit-end to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
