Path that starts without a start event
The check bpmnlint/no-implicit-start, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
An element with no incoming flow starts on its own, which is easy to mistake for a forgotten connection.
How to fix it
Add a start event before the element, or connect it to the path it belongs to.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/no-implicit-start. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set no-implicit-start to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
