Sub-process start event with a type
The check bpmnlint/sub-process-blank-start-event, in the group Modelling rules.
Why it matters
A sub-process starts when the flow reaches it, so its start event has no event to wait for.
How to fix it
Make the start event blank.
Where you see it
The editor puts a marker on the element while you draw, and the Problems tab of the sidebar lists it under Rules, with the rule name bpmnlint/sub-process-blank-start-event. In a terminal, penstock check --only rules reports it.
To change how strict this rule is, set sub-process-blank-start-event to error, warn or off in your .bpmnlintrc. See Validation.
