Connection without both ends
The check drawing/dangling-connection, in the group Drawing.
Why it matters
A connection that starts or ends on nothing is drawn but connects nothing, so the picture and the process disagree.
How to fix it
Reconnect both ends of the connection to a shape, or delete it.
Where you see it
The Problems tab lists it under Problems, and outlines the element on the canvas. In a terminal, penstock check --only drawing reports it as DANGLING-CONNECTION. Auto layout often fixes it for the whole diagram at once.
